Davide Meucci aka DAVEM, was born in Turin in 1979. DAVEM is an italian eclectic artist. He is a skateboarder- snowboarder, electronic-jazzy musician and also painter and graphic designer. His enthusiasm and the constant research of new ways of communication make him venture into graphic art and painting, preferring primitive and essential signs, sometimes inspired from a frail and tortuous inner exploration. Soul sounds become deeper through this intimate and personal path, and a need for livening they up prompted him to research new sounds. He grows up with jazz, blues, acid jazz, funk, trip hop, he starts to compose without inspiring to any particular artist, and using just its impulse, ironically defined "Davem’s belief " by his friends, expression which means a strongly personal artistic and music genre.
He attended the famous school of Saluzzo specializing as "Technician of music for interactive digital arts." In 2008, produces a vinyl record "Believe" and ep for the famous Parisian label "Karat", soon after comes out with an EP "Autumn" for the German Musik Spontan and works with the young and promising Expreezo Rec with a remix. His style is very personal, often unconventional, eclectic. Electronic music with hints of Jazz, Funk, Pop and Techno. He received excellent reviews and positive feedback from international artists. His ability to draw attention to him to perform in some of the most important Italian festivals including Traffic and Club to Club Join the Piedmont Groove. In 2009 he won the Jazz Festival and refound Bertallot Alessio, a member of the jury, he plays "Sweet Lover" (winner track) to B-SIDE, a prestigious program on radio DJ.
He worked as graphic designer for a famous street-fashion brand in Turin, drawing pictures to be print on clothes. 2k by Gingham (Los Angeles), one of the most famous brands of "Artist t-shirts" of the world with famous artists like Barry McGee, David Shrigley, Devendra Banhart, Jeremyville, Matt Furie, Yoco Ono is interested in his drawings. He wants to combine music and painting. His musical releases are complemented by its Artworks printed on record covers.
